The gist:

Water scarcity “has been consistently considered as one of the top five risks by business leaders in the annual global risk report of the World Economic Forum.”

That means, it doesn’t just affect people far away, somewhere else, anymore. The water problem runs deep, and to address it, it is crucial to identify and mobilize the right agents for change.

The Research is increasingly showing that: womxn are the right agents. And, not only in water conservation, but in forest and resource management, too.

The #faxx:

  • The Family Planning and Environmental Sustainability Assessment, a @Worldwatch Institute project, is currently at work on "systematic map of evidence,” that gender composition in forest an fishery management, positively affects conservation outcomes.
  • Worldwatch Org itself has released research that shows that, Higher ratios of women’s NGOs to countries’ populations, correlated with lower rates of deforestation.

That why we say, women’s leadership makes the future more sustainable.
